Melissa Chen Bio
Melissa Chen is an award-winning Canadian artist and designer who creates art inspired by the natural world. She immigrated to British Columbia, Canada at the age of two. She attended the Royal College of Art in London, England for her Master of Arts in Painting. She previously studied fine art at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. In 2018, she founded Lunar Rain, her own fine jewellery & art brand. She now creates jewellery and ceramic art for the brand.
In 2025, Lunar Rain won first place in the “Best in Gold” category in the prestigious Couture Design Awards for the Moon Cat Locket Necklace designed by Melissa Chen. In 2023, Lunar Rain was nominated in the Emerging Accessories category at the Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards (CAFA).
